About Me

I am proud to call So. California my home, and am happily married to a wonderful and understanding woman named Kim. She and I are the proud parents of 2 adult children.

I am a Licensed Extra Class Amateur Radio Operator (AG6AG), and participate in emergency and club activities in my local community.

I have been involved with open source since the early 90s, and spend my days showing companies how to integrate open source solutions into their network infrastructure, reducing their costs and improving their overall network security.

My company, ACT USA provides shared, virtual, and dedicated server platforms to clients from our co-located equipment farms located across the USA.

I currently participate in many open source projects and user groups as well as spend my free time spreading the word about the virtues of Amateur Radio.

I started this blog to allow me to perform what my wife calls “Mind Dumps”. Although I am known to be a bit technical, I try to balance my “Geek” posts with other more “Normal” information.

You can follow me on twitter @stuartsheldon, or Google+. Or email me here.
